Research Topics
Studies in the social sciences and humanities that are grounded in academic principles relevant to the field of expertise and adhere to scientific ethics are accepted.
 

General Rules

• The similarity rate of the section texts, as determined by the plagiarism detection software,should not exceed 30%.

   

• Submitted articles must not have been previously published anywhere or submitted elsewhere for publication. Papers presented at scientific conferences may be considered for publication provided they have not been previously published in a journal or conference proceedings, and provided that details of the event are cited in a footnote. All ethical responsibilities in this regard rest with the authors.

• The abstract should be between 300 and 500 words. An English abstract must also be included for each article.

• In articles derived from a thesis, the thesis information must be provided in a footnote.

• The authors are solely responsible for all aspects of the scientific content and legal liability of the published articles.

• No royalties are paid to the authors of the published articles.

• The languages of the text are Turkish and English.

Writing Guideleness

• The page size should be set to A4 (width 21 cm, height 29.7 cm).

• The entire text must be in Times New Roman. If you wish to use a custom font, please contact the editors.

• The line spacing for the entire text should be set to 1.5.

• The length of chapter manuscripts, excluding the abstract, figures, tables, direct quotations from literary works, and the bibliography, should be at least 10 and no more than 30 pages.

• According to APA 6 or Chicago style, the text should consist of the following sections, in that order: Main Title, Introduction, Main Text, Conclusion, and References.

Title Page

• It should be in bold and uppercase to match the content.

• It should be written in 12-point font.

• It should be centered on the page, with a 1.25 cm indent on the right and a 1.25 cm indent on the left.

• Detailed information about studies that have previously been presented as papers at scientific conferences or derived from a thesis should be provided in a footnote under the main heading.

Author(s)' Name(s) and Address(es)

• The author(s)' first name(s) should be in lowercase, and their last name(s) should be in all caps.

• The author's name(s) should be listed below the title, right-aligned, in 12-point font.

• The author(s)’ titles, affiliations, email addresses, and ORCID numbers should be provided as footnotes.

Main Text

• The main text should be written in 11-point Times New Roman font.

• The margins in the main text should be 2.5 cm at the top, 2.5 cm at the bottom, 2.5 cm on the left, and 2.5 cm on the right.

• The line spacing for the entire text—excluding the references—should be set to 1.5.

• The main text should be indented 0 cm on the right and 0 cm on the left and aligned to both margins.

• Paragraphs should begin with a one-tab (1.25 cm) indent.

• Explanations and footnotes should be written in 9-point font.

Table/s

• When creating a table, only the necessary information should be included, and this information should be presented in a way that the reader can easily understand.

• The row and column headings in the table should be short and clear.

  • The formatting of tables must comply with APA 6 or Chicago style.

• Each table must be numbered and written in 11-point font. Example: Table 1, Table 2…

• Table titles should be written in 11-point font, with the first letter of each word capitalized and the rest in lowercase. For example:

• Table 1. Ahmed Paşa Dîvânı’nda Deyimler

• The font size of the text in the tables should be between 9 and 11 points.

• Tables should be created using Word's table features.

Figure/s

• Graphs, charts, maps, drawings, and photographs are classified as figures.

• Figures should be easy to understand and read, and their elements should be of a visible size.

• The font size of the text inside the shape should be between 9 and 11.

• Each figure must be numbered and followed by a period. The number should be in 11-point font. For example: Figure 1., Figure 2.

Direct Quotation Within the Text

• Direct quotations longer than three lines should be block-aligned, indented 1.25 cm from the left margin relative to the main text, and set in 10-point type. Quotations from verses and poems should also begin 1.25 cm from the left margin and be set in 10- or 11-point type.

• For direct quotations of no more than three lines, this portion should be incorporated into the sentence. If the quoted portion appears at the end of the sentence, it should be enclosed in quotation marks, followed immediately by the source and a period.

• If Roman numerals are used throughout the work being cited, the author may use Roman numerals in citations and explanations.

• Example (quote not exceeding 3 lines):

The novel *Something Strange in My Head* begins with the sentence: “This is the story of the life and dreams of Mevlut Karataş, a seller of boza and yogurt.” (Pamuk, 2014, s.15).

• Quotations longer than three lines should be set in 11-point type, indented 1 cm on both sides.

In-Text Citations

• When expressing the ideas of others in our own words, we must cite the author’s last name, the date, and the page number of the source.

A single-author: (Macit, 2022, p. 3)
Co-authored: (Kartal & Şentürk, 2009, p. 15)
More than three author: (İsen, et al., 2009, p.66)

• If citing two or more works by the same author published in the same year, letters following the publication year in alphabetical order are added:

(Güzel, 2022a, p. 28),     (Güzel, 2022b, p. 5)

• Multiple citations within the same set of parentheses should be listed in alphabetical order by the first author's last name and separated by semicolons.

For example: (Aydın, 2020; Demir, 2010; Kaya & Yılmaz, 2003)
 

References

• All sources cited in the text must be listed under the "References" heading.

• The APA 6 or Chicago style should be used for the reference list.

• The sources listed in the bibliography should be arranged in alphabetical order based on the authors' last names.

• The sources listed in the References section should be formatted with single line spacing and a hanging indent (1.25 cm).

• If there are multiple citations from the same author within the text, they are listed in order of publication year, with the earlier publication listed first:

Yılmaz, A. (2003)
Yılmaz, A. (2005)

• If there are multiple citations from the same author in the text, and some of the publications are co-authored by other authors, the publication by the author alone is cited first, regardless of the year of publication.

• The names of organizations and groups must be clearly stated in the references. World Health Organization (1997)
